1 Inner conductor material
The inner conductor is generally made of metal as the most important component material of wire and cable, which plays a decisive role for the cable and often constitutes one of the most important costs of the cable.
So we have to understand what kind of conductor material Alarm Cable uses is very critical, different environments, different occasions, different customers conductor material selection are different.
1）Copper clad aluminum
Copper clad aluminum is one of the main conductor materials used in Alarm Cable, according to the different conductivity, copper clad aluminum material is divided into: coated copper clad aluminum, electroplated copper clad aluminum.
Cladding copper clad aluminum: using advanced cladding welding technology, the copper strip is concentrically clad on the outer surface of the core wire of the aluminum rod, and make the copper layer and the core wire to form a solid inter-atomic metallurgical bond. With letters: CCA
Electroplating copper clad aluminum: is the use of electrolysis in some metal surface plated with a thin layer of copper or alloy process, is the use of electrolysis to make the surface of the metal or other material parts attached to a layer of metal film of the process so as to play a role in preventing oxidation of the metal (such as corrosion), to improve abrasion resistance, electrical conductivity, reflective, corrosion resistance (copper sulfate, etc.) and to enhance the role of the aesthetics and so on. Copper-clad aluminum-magnesium alloy: aluminum-magnesium alloy wire is the main element of aluminum, mixed with a small amount of magnesium or other metal materials to strengthen its hardness. With the letter for: CCADM
2) Bare copper conductor
In the wire and cable industry, due to excellent copper processing performance, wide range of resources, cost-effective, conductive and so on, for the most commonly used for cable conductors. Bare copper conductor with the letter for: BC
Due to the high cost of pure copper materials, in recent years, copper-clad aluminum in the field of security lines and coaxial lines are used, copper-clad aluminum wire resistivity than pure copper wire, about 1.5 times that of pure copper wire, but copper-clad aluminum wire is lightweight for less than half of the weight of the pure copper wire, this is the advantage of copper-clad aluminum.
2 insulation materials
The vast majority of wire and cable products for plastic insulation products, the main insulating materials used are:
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), polypropylene (PP), polyperfluoroethylene propylene (FEP, F46), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, F4), polyamide (commonly known as nylon), low-smoke halogen-free (LSZH).
Currently there are two main insulation materials used in Alarm Cable: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH).
The insulation we also refer to as insulated core wire, and each core wire is a different color to differentiate it.
